It's kind of hard to accept, but it seems pretty sure that he's dead. Still, since we don't really see his body, there's a sliver of a chance he survived? After all, he recovered from being stabbed through the heart with an enormous pipe in Evolution.
Maybe just wishful thinking, because I like the character and the actor, but I'm kind of hoping for his return in a potential sixth movie. There is a possibility.
Then again, Marius clearly said that the vile of hybrid blood he was carrying around, was "the last of Michael". Marius must have checked the body after the blood-letting and certainly knows for sure the fate of Michael. Arghh, it's quite frustrating :) We finally get some kind of answer, but at the same time there's room for doubt.
If Marius had known what he was doing, which seems highly unlikely since he's the bad guy, he would've kept Michael alive and comatose and just kept draining blood from him and letting it continue to circulate so he could keep having it and keep using it. This coming from someone who hasn't seen the movie yet, but has seemingly pretty much heard all the spoilers. I think anything's possible in Hollywood and movie-making, as long as Scott Speedman would please come back. lol But if you threw my idea here in as the twist and he's just comatose somewhere that would be an interesting opening for the next and hopefully, for this particular fan, final, movie. I want to see an end to a franchise that genuinely is an ending. They can reboot and do all the rest of the movies from that point they want, but please, just give us an ending, a true ending and a finale. Particularly a series finale. *sigh Maybe that's just me and my opinion. But if it were supposed to be an ending, then Scott Speedman coming back would make sense and work well.

EXACTLY what I was thinking when the Michael reveal popped up in the movie. Who in their right mind would kill the goose that lays the golden eggs???

Plus the idea of a villain who taunts the heroine in this case with the death of her loved one isn't all that implausible to be honest. I guess we'd just have to see where a sixth movie would take things. Here's to hoping for a resurrection of Michael Corvin and reuniting with his family.

Selene is now a vampire elder; her story is kind of at an end. So I'd like to see her take a step back and, for the next movie, send Eve and (hopefully, a resurrected) Michael out into the world for the new battle.

Yeah maybe. So does the movie feel like it ends full circle, or does it leave room for a sequel, or does it do both? Also, why does Marius need Eve's blood if he already had Michael's? Is that a plot hole?
No, not to me. They mention Eve and the importance of her blood during the entire movie, over and over and over and over again, and yet she never joins in on the battle or the story, apart from that final wordless shot of hers. So Eve's storyline & her mysterious abscence is unresolved/unanswered and given its importance, the whole of Underworld remains unresolved for as long as we don't learn more about Eve.
does it leave room for a sequel, or does it do both?
Both, IMO. Selene delivers the perfect line that both concludes the series -from her POV- and leaves room for other chapters: "There's never a beginning, nor an ending, there is only... Becoming. [Eve enters the frame]" But for fans who've said from the very beginning that these movies were really only about Selene, the series can end here in a satisfactory way I guess.
why does Marius need Eve's blood if he already had Michael's?
Michael's is inferior to Eve's, because he was turned and Eve is a pure blood, conceived naturally. Eve is to the new potential hybrid species, what Marcus is to the vampires and William to the lycans.
Is that a plot hole?
Up for debate, but IMO somewhat of a plot hole as long as we don't learn more about Eve.

I see. One last question, is Eve played by India Eisley? Personally, I want a tried and true ending. Wrap up the whole thing Eve included and then just reboot or whatever they do. Spin-Off, etc.
I don't know for sure, but I'm inclined to say NO. Tbh, I had never heard of India Eisley before Underworld Awakening, so I didn't pay much attention to whether or not the same actress played the part of Eve again. Her facial features are remarkably different in Blood Wars if you ask me, as if she grew into a young woman, compared to the girl we saw in Awakening. India Eisley may have 'developed' over time though, but I don't think it's her. Still, her character identity is unmistakable. And, when Eve shows up, Selene is there. They did meet up, in the end.

OH! That's awesome! Thanks for telling me, man. I didn't realize they met at the end and I was bummed thinking about that. If this was a finale I'd be really happy. Despite Michael being dead.
Michael isn't dead. If this is the last movie just imagine that after the credits roll, Michael strolls up to his girls and all ends well. If they don't kill Michael in a way that can actually kill him (like chopping his head off) then he isn't dead.
I refuse to believe Michael is dead, too. But I am ready to accept that it may just be wishful thinking. An ultimate end to Michael's fate is in order for sure.
Hey GSWorldbuilder, I just read that they say a stand-in plays Eve from a distance and then later in an unconscious state? I'm not sure what that means, if it's a typo or not on wikipedia's page for the movie, but I was just wondering if you could inform me of what that might mean exactly? Thanks in advance! Don't worry, they can bring back any character if they want to.
Huh? She appears only in flashbacks made up of footage from Awakening, and then "for real" in the final shot of the movie. It's over after that scene; there is no later.
