It could've been a more intense and intelligent product. I can only recommend it to the fans of the saga, or those who want to have fun with a brief and cheesy adventure.

What did they expect? These films have and will always be for the fans.

So what? These people are supposed to review movies. They have to look at a movie in terms of directing, story, acting etc. and if a movie falls short from their POV then that's their opinion. IMO he's wrong in his estimate even just because clearly the movie is tailored towards the RE crowd. All action with little to no plot apparently works for the general public just as much as some fans.
