What the hell did they spend all the money on for Awakening?

70mil isn't a lot for a visual effects heavy action film and the 4th film in a successful series at that. They were smart to cut the budget for the 5th movie though.

Shooting with IMAX cameras is pretty damn expensive.

Because it was filmed in 3d not converted like this one

i think the upcoming RES EVIL movie was also converted 3D unlike for AFTERLIFE (and i think RETRIBUTION).
