Varga gets away with murdering all of those Death Dealers? There has to be an uncut version that gets released on DVD/Blu Ray. Even if Selene is done with the war, she was the legendary Death Dealer, and for her to not kill him for their murders goes against her character.

But that's why you don't discard Selene's emotional ties, especially someone essentially good like Michael. Someone who is a constant reminder of what's good and what's not.

Exactly. Plus they still have a bad habit of killing off way too many characters that can have affect her character arc as well.

In Game of Hrones, Jon Snow did exile the red witch who saved him, saying if she ever returns she will be executed for murder.
The same might happen to Varga, who did commit horrendous crimes but later on helped the coven in the final battle.
That was self preservation. If the lycans won he would've died along with the coven. He could still be a potential threat if he is exiled.
shareare we sure there is no punishment coming for Varga? the storyline ends literally moments(?) after Marius & Co. were defeated. for all we know Varga was imprisoned immediately after the screen cuts to black.

1) Varga was ordered to do it by Semira and he was not happy about it. By switching his allegiance to David when the council established David's right to rule, Varga pretty much established himself as a loyal officer.
2) Remember that Semira told the council that Selene had done it. When David came back, the council would know that Semira was responsible but not how the killings were accomplished.
There was some underplayed buddy moments between David and Varga during the battle against the lycans. David protected Varga against the light streaming in through the broken windows and Varga took down Marius at one point to protect David. So even should the council figure out that Varga killed the trainees, David will probably defend him.
