This was actually decent and a nice return to it's roots.

Unlike Awakening, which was just a shlockfest, this actually had a good story and added quite a lot to the mythology of the series. High brow critics always hate stuff like this but fans should appreciate the stronger effort given to story this time around. I give it a solid 8/10.

I agree with this completely

Totally agree, I also give it an 8 out of 10 but wish it was longer.

It was. Just wish there was more meat on the bones to the story. Not just an hour and half short story

reply

2 hours would be nice, yet I still felt it was well-paced.

I liked it well enough. It brought something new to the 14-year-old franchise and still had most of the things that were cool about the first one.

I didn't really like how fast it moved. I want to say there wasn't much character development, but I think it's really that there wasn't much to care about for the characters. Selene is tired, Semira and the new lycan leader just want to be the best, the two remaining vampire covens just want to be left alone. There's no emotional connection.

I gave it a generous 7, it's not really a 6 IMO.

Beezow, i agree w/ you. i very much enjoyed this movie. my faves in the franchise are actually EVOLUTION and (yes, i believe it or not...) AWAKENING. BLOOD WARS is pretty close to EVOLUTION quality/writing-wise imo. i give it an 8/10 as well.
