There aren't any humans there and I didn't see any animals. What do they live/subsist on?

You do see animal pelts, perhaps they eat the animals after they skin them. Maybe they have a supply of Ziodex manufactured blood they are living off of.

I wondered the same thing, especially considering they are peaceful. Trueblood maybe, lol?
