I think that a 6th film is a given to make it a 2 trilogy franchise. I'd hope they'd get it done and ready for 2020 to complete the franchise. Blood wars will be the retribution like it was for resident evil. They need to bring back Michael and Eve and have original characters for flashbacks. I've not seen blood wars but this franchise has gone nowhere since Evolution ended

And this movie conclude well the franchise... I rather be it the last one despite enjoying Underworld as a whole and loving Selene character. It wrapp up everything... If they do make a 6th, it will feel forced like Awakening was...
Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!
They coudl easily make a 6th one that actually involves Eve and brings about an end to the war. Right now, while Blood Wars does provide a decent conclusion if they don't make another, they basically just set stuff back to the status quo of how things stood at the beginning of the first. But ti gives a fairly decent conclusion with a similar ending feel to how Evolution ended. Feeling complete even if nto finished, so I would like to see one more, concluding film. But if this is it it ends pretty well and wraps up some loose threads.

We now have a trio of Elders again and a couple covens for the vampires. And the war with the Lycans still ongoing but them seemingly without a leader as was believed at the start of the first.

They did end it. Like it or not, Selene says "My story has come full circle" (Stupid line).
With the long wait for the 4th film after the 3rd, it literally just felt like the final two movies in this series were on speed, trying to rush to get to the end of the franchise. Even Kate Beckinsale looked like she didn't care anymore with this one.
They couldn't get the actor for Michael back for the second time and just gave him an off screen death, even though Selene was looking for him all of the last film (making it completely pointless), and even the actress that played her daughter didn't come back, thus the stupid looking CGI face they did for her character in the last two seconds of the movie. All of the characters were looking for Eve the whole time but she wasn't even in the movie, so it's just like Awakening, completely pointless.
Honestly, they stopped trying after the 3rd movie and the 4th one could have easily been the final movie. I can honestly see the last Resident Evil film being the exact same as this, considering all of them are done in the same super quick cut style of this film and Screen Gems is notorious for not giving a *beep* about their movies.
The difference is resident evil dose great numbers were as underworld will be in decline as for can they stop here yes but will they no if this dose descent enough you will get another or a tv show
shareI don't disagree. However, I think that this film set up David to be the new "hero" of this franchise if they are to make another one, which I don't think will happen either way.
Personally, I see this franchise either continuing with one more movie, being rebooted as started over again, or there being a TV series made out of it and personally, I think that the TV idea can be good if done right.
There will either be a reboot or tv series next keep in mind if they want they can start the whole thing from scratch by going to the future an having a whole new hero an selina as a back ground character as for should they do another I think 5 films is enough but if there has to be more I have no problem with a tv show but they need to spice it up what they should do is introduce a new monster a third party an have vampires an werewolfs team up against it something like either the mix breeds try to kill them or a new classic monster like zombies or demons or creature from the black lagoon whatever just something
shareFrom what i read Scott Speedman was never asked to come back in the first place. They never really wanted Michael back in the franchise. They just decided to write him off in the fourth movie so thus why they got the look-a-like. I would had like Michael to be back, but for the David story to advance they kinda had to not have Michael.
As for Eve, i prefer she was not in the movie, can't say i loved the character in 4. If she would had been in this one, it would had been the same as 4, same chase, kidnaping etc. By pulling her aside they really did the movie a good service. And yet she keep being mentioned, unlike when they written Jill off in the third movie of RE without even a single mention. So we know she still exist and all. And then they get reunited.

i think speedman has had some kind off falling out with these people because if they simply diddnt ask him back they are stupid what this franchise needs is to shake it up it needs something cool an dramatic even bringing michael back an having him be the new villain like hes went feral or something an is now commanding a hybrid army would be a crazy cool new interesting way to go or heck skip further in the future an have selinas daughter be the new big bad have her turn evil an either have her kill seline to have a new hero or have sline herself once again having to take the bad guy out except this time its her own kid making the drama an the stakes higher
sharethe only way I could see it ending would be if selene pass the torch to eve, who finally lives up to all the hype they put on the hybrid stuff, and permanently stops the feud. Maybe she takes over both clans, or she turns everyone into a hybrid, or something else. given that most people only care about selene and nothing else, this may very well be the final one, since selene seems to have found inner peace

shareNo matter what, movie No. 6 needs to be made pronto. Kate, gorgeous as she still is, but is getting too old to keep playing the ageless Selene. The character is ageless, the actress in real life is not. Just like Hugh Jackman is getting too old to convincely play the slow aging Wolverine.
