That is the latest trailer, and here are boxoffice.com predictions for Underworld: Blood Wars.

That is significantly lower predicted gross for Blood Wars despite higher ticket prices than Awakening, and by the looks of it Blood Wars looks to be a better film.

17M Opening Weekend with a 42 Million dollar domestic finish isn't good at all. So why so low? Well Screen Gems has done an awful job marketing this one and putting it in the first half of January is a mistake with Rogue One still looming in the market. Let's not forget MOST films that aren't award worthy will do badly up against any STar Wars film.

As for foreign audiences saving Blood Wars, don't count on it, none of the previous 4 did that well outside of America.

I hope I'm wrong though and this exceeds expectations but I highly doubt I'm wrong.

That seems a little low. Apart from Rise of the Lycans, all movies have had quite a steady gross. As for international; Awakening was the odd one out, with 90+ million compared to the steady 40+ million for the other installments.

Blood Wars looks much better than Awakening and will probably have a better word of mouth.

As for Rogue One as competition; wouldn't the die hard fans go see this movie almost immediately after its release, rather than wait a few weeks?

I'm guessing Blood Wars will make the same 60+ million domestically and 40+ internationally.

Boxoffice.com isn't that accurate when it comes to tracking, I don't even think there are any analytics behind it, just a wild guess.
I'm hoping for a Golden Globe nomination for Beckinsale for Love and Friendship, that alone will give Blood Wars a box-office bump.

That makes zero sense. If you're not onboard with this series already, you probably never will be, and if she gets nominated for an award for something else, it will probably get people more interested in THAT movie.

the first 2 Kate UNDERWORLD films did relatively close $$$ while AWAKENING did better in international markets. i fully expect this new Kate UNDERWORLD movie to do similar to AWAKENING's numbers. i am a tad concerned for the film though that RESIDENT EVIL:THE FINAL CHAPTER (both films are Sony/Screengems) is opening a mere 2 weeks later and each film (i love both franchises and i plan on seeing both films) could cut into each other's box office.

It won't matter, as neither series has legs, and both only do very mediocre business. This will probably start disappearing from theaters around the time that RE comes out anyway. If they DID happen to cut into each other's business, it would be solely the fault of Sony, the distributor of both franchises. I had to look to make sure xXx wasn't theirs too (they put out the first one), but it's at Paramount this time around.

Looks like I was right, there won't be an Underworld 6 and Blood Wars looks to pull in only mediocre numbers. I wish I had been wrong, as I'm a fan myself. Although I'll probably skip to blu-ray for Blood Wars as my area is super cold this time of year.

I never said it was, I said it looked like it. I do not plan on seeing Blood Wars in theaters, I'll wait for another box set to upgrade my dvd's to blu-ray and then watch it.

This should be the last movie before reboot (if ever there is a reboot) cause... well you will see. That part is true

And finally... my god... how can you actually like those horrible resident evil movies... There an insult to the games. They make Resident Evil 6 the game looks like a GREAT resident evil product compare to them... lol

Alice is the worst character of all time, she need to die in the last movie. Chris/Jill are RE !!!

The resident evil films arent meant to be the games as for underworld vs resident evil in terms of films the first resident evil is much more fun then the first underworld but underworld has a better story the problem with underworld is it has vampires an werewolfs but it isnt a horror action movie its simply a action movie for the hot topic crowd which is fine but this could have simply been a matrix sequel lol as is the first is the best an a great sexy goth action flick the second is a dumber more action style flick its pretty good but could an should have ended the franchise the third is descent but not amazing an easily the weakest an lowest budget looking one of the first 3 but its descent the fourth is really dumb an the franchise is wearing thin its all right an this one is the same as four. These movies are better written then resident evil but they dont have the balls of resident evil millia is a much bigger badass then beckensale could ever hope to be.

If you wanna make sh!tty direct to video crap, then just make them, stop wasting millions making them into theatrical releases.

I could still see them making at least one more depending on overseas box office. This one I believe cost like $30 million and already has done $40 million + overseas.

April, the movies prove once again that video game movies are always *beep* Milla is terrible in them, the wired action is not even good. Selene is 10 time a better character than Alice could ever dream of. I agree with you the series has declined over the years (til this one wich i really enjoyed, probably my second favourite) but to compare it to RE movies is so insulting for Underworld.

RE movies ... well the first one was alright as a zombie flick. It lacked elements to be resident evil for me, should had just been called "The Hive" and be an original product. Didn't even feature the characters from the game. Alice was a poor version of Jill, Matt a poor version of Chris and that other dude wich i forgot the name a poor version of Wesker. And Rodriguez was more or less a poor version of Barry lol. But overall it was an ok movie.

Second one had a couple quality to it, it was closer to the game, but then it still spited on its source material, butchering the Nemesis and making Jill just a sidekick. Oh and Nicolai... probably the character that had the worst treatement i ever saw. Cold heart older russian dude vs American good heart hero dying like an idiot.

Then at 3 it just completely decided to go random non sense...

Your being way to harsh if you think milla is bad in those she is perfect for the arnold silly dumb fun action films your also toally missing the point if your looking for deep character these are arnold style action films except with a tough chick as for being based off a video game has nothing to do with it it simply dumb fun action flick this isnt meant to be high art lol the difference between underworld an resident evil is resident evil knew what it was an decided to embrace that the reason alot of people dont like underworld is because of how silly the idea is but how serious they take themselves they believe these are dumb films pretending to be smarter

Also, Arnold can't even get anyone to pay to watch Arnold movies anymore, so that's a pretty poor reason for trying to convince us why she's great.

Your clearly not paying attention to anything i said not once was i ever trying to convince you she was great i could care less what you think of any one also there is no us there is only you.And you will either watch her movies or you wont i really dont think she or anyone on here cares about what you think of her also the arnold thing you said has nothing to do with anything i said the point is shes a action hero who spouts one liners an shes much much tougher then kate beckensale could ever hope to be regardless of film quality of either franchise
