I know in the last film that she was immune to sunlight, I just can't recall, did the Lycan in the last movie do something to her? She must have passed it on David when she revived him, which also made him to bullets as well.
Yeah, she drank Alexander Corvinus' blood. He was the original "immortal". According to legend, he was a Hungarian warlord who ended up being the sole survivor of a plague that spread across his land. His body somehow the disease and mutated him into a powerful being that never aged. Years later, he had three sons. Marcus was bitten by a bat, which mutated him into the first vampire, William was bitten by a wolf, which mutated him into the first lycan. The third son (name unknown) was mortal, but carried what became known as the Corvinus strand in his blood, which he passed down to his descendants, all the way up to Michael. This how he was able to become a hybrid. When Selene drank Alexander's blood, she evolved into something more than a vampire (hence the movie's name Evolution), which made her faster, stronger, and immune to sunlight.
Also notewothy that it made her a match for the 1500 year old original vampire after he became a hybrid. I don't think Marius should have been able to get the upper hand on her in a fight just because he was sipping little vials of Michael's blood—Michael shouldn't have been as powerful as her either.
Another inconsistency: if someone as powerful as Selene can be instantly incapacitated by a shallow cut from a knife soaked in nightshade, why the 600-year-long plot to overthrow the supposedly unassailable Victor? Put some on a dart, shoot it at him while he's polishing a sword or something, and bam! You're now the leader of the coven.
Well, don't forget that Michael had genuine Corvinus blood flowing through his veins, Selene merely inherited the trait when she drank Corvinus' blood. Michael's problem was that he had power, but he didn't know how to fully use, and he was untrained in combat.
