shareYeah, but HOW did that kill Semira? Viktor was stabbed through the mouth too by Lucian in Rise of the Lycans and survived. If he survived that, Semira should have after gaining enhanced strength, speed, and healing from Selene's blood. Did David stab a little higher and cut through her brain?
shareExactly major plot hole, unless they come up with Underworld 6 saying you have to be blessed with the blood or the like to be fully enhanced with its powers.
shareMy guess is that it depends on the specific cut. Viktor may have been lucky to survive Lucian's attack, or David just gotten a lucky hit. Otherwise, you're right that Semira should have survived that.
shareThe writers suck as they could have explained it better, but if you get the implication of what happen to Michael with Marius taking his blood involuntary that the effects of having blood on that basis only lasts so long if it is not given voluntarily with a blessing. Remember in Awakening, Quint had to keep getting shots from Eve's DNA to keep his enhanced powers. So in conclusion Semira enhanced power from Selene's blood was temporary and her powers were quickly drained when she was exposed to the sun and impaled at the same time.
