How about an RPG?
So we see all these weapons, swords, guns, grenades and so during the whole movie, but when a single RPG would have stopped the Lycans attack on the castle, suddenly they are all using micro calibers. I know that there is the risk I guess of breaking wall but still. Not much sense there.
