Did Marine Le Pen produced this movie?

Just asking, since the topic seems to be about blacks and jews (related to banks) raping and cheating somehow, so I have to wonder if this film was produced by her or other people against immigration and jews. The hidden symbolism in this movie is not that hidden to be honest. I actually enjoyed the film, but you can't deny it has quite a racist component in it.

The rapist wasn't black and the banker wasn't jewish?

reply

The rapist she (ELLE) was looking for was a man which had been circumcised. That man later ended up being the banker who lived in front of her house (he said in the christmas dinner party he worked in a bank), so I only have to assume he was jew. Circumcition is pretty common thing among them you see.. Now, the man who was the actual father of Vincent's son was Omar, a black-possibly immigrant- man who had violeted his trust and had sex with Vincent's girlfriend. I don't believe I have to go on any further, but I guess you can see what I meant... The movie is pretty entertaining, don't get me wrong. But you cannot see it without avoiding these ingredients.

reply

The banker was setting up a nativity scene with his hardcore Catholic wife, so I assumed he was a lukewarm Catholic. A lot of Christians are circumcised. I didn't see any Foreskin Man comics rolled up in his back pocket.

Black guy - the whole story made the white guy look like a fool, so I doubt Le Pen would approve.

reply

Wait a minute....are people really claiming the banker guy to be jewish merely by the fact he is circumsized???? Serious question as I was wondering if I overlooked anything that was said in the movie regarding him being jewish. I thought he's a Christian just like his wife.

If the circumsision is the only reason people jump to the fact that he's a jew.....wow, these forums are really getting dumber by the day. Deluded and racist.

I did not catch any racist vibe or right-wing propaganda from the movie at all and I doubt that Verhoeven would intend a movie of his to be interpreted that way. This board on the other hand seems to be filled with quite a lot of right radical propaganda nonsense (courtesy of guys like firstwinsgop-1).

The black guy also did not come across as a commentary on anything or representing anything. It was all about the stupid/naive son and his slutty obnoxious wife. They made the real father a black guy so it was clear right away that the baby is not Vincent's. If they would have casted a white guy, that would not have worked, now would it??

I hate people bringing their own political views to the movies with them.

So you see nothing in the movie. Basically no message in it, it's just me implying everything. What kind of moron are you pal? I wouldn't be saying the movie has a pretty subliminal racist message in it if I was racist to be begin with.

So you just thought he was a christian because he was married to one? Who's the racist one here? Just because he's married to a christian, he can't suddenly be a jew?

Also circumcition is not that usual in countries like France among christian men. Not being racist, just a fact.

It's pretty much all there. If you think those two references were naive... well that's up to you.

You cannot ignore the huge fact also that jewish immigrants are suffering a huge amount of trash from right wing minded people. Look: https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/europe/in-france-an-uncertain-future-for-jews/2016/05/07/7b6e2e8c-12e8-11e6-a9b5-bf703a5a7191_story.html

I really don't mind if you cannot see it. But everybody's got an ideology and the director while may seem pretty much a progressive guy, he might be underlining those facts. Perhaps not directly rejecting those, but maybe making a parody of those who do.

reply

FFS... Circumcision is very common in Europe and has been for years - certainly when the Patrick character would have been born. You need to travel more, dear.

reply

Circumcision is NOT at all common in France. In Western culture, circumcision was mostly a Jewish thing until recently, when USA doctors got onto the religious bandwagon. Opposition to circumcision is one of the reasons Christians broke away from Jews in the first place!

The rarity of circumcision in Europe is a huge thorn in the side of advocates of "circumcision protects from AIDS" crowd, because rarely circumcised Europe has less AIDS that mostly circumcised USA.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

reply

Sorry, pal, having had in my youth more French lovers than I will ever admit to my children... LOL!

reply

You're beyond clueless.

reply

"Poor white dude being made a fool by black man"

Yes, that IS a pretty racist undertone to the film.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

reply

Finally someone who can actually see it.

reply

Obvious troll is obvious

reply

Nah... but if you can't see it, it's up to you. Have you heard of something called semiotics by any chance? I guess not!

reply

So by your childish logic, any movie about corruption and lies is produced by Hilary Clinton and any movie about illegals being deported is produced by Donald Trump? Yeah, ok, makes sense.

You obviously know this movie is not produced by LePen so bringing it up is quite stupid.

You are reading so much into this because you want to believe your little fantasy. People like you see races and problems everywhere there is not. It's just a dark satire movie about rape, get over yourself.

reply

Here we go again with the Trump/Clinton thing. Why should I care? This movie is french by the way, not american you delusional rat. It seems you are a bit retarted, cause anyone would've realised that question of mine was plain and simple irony. If you cannot understand it, it's on you. People like me see symbols where others can't. People like me don't say to other people "people like you" and pretend to be progressive. It's not just a dark satire about rape, if you're only able to see that that confirms why you cannot even understand my irony to begin with.

reply

Paul Verhoeven's a fairly liberal guy but he's always been a provocateur first.

Whatever you are, be a good one.

reply

He's a misogynist first.

***So I've seen 4 movies/wk in theatre for a 1/4 century, call me crazy?**

reply

A lot of Christians are circumcised.

Yes, in America this is true because it was pushed by doctors in the 1950's as being more clean. But in France, no. Christian men in France are not circumcised and the clear implication was that the man was a Jew.

As for the movie being "racist" I disagree. With the problems going on in France right now can it really be considered "racist" to name the Jew? With the Jewish inspired migrant invasion putting France's entire society on life support and the idea that there will even be a "France" in twenty years looking bleak, is a story line about the migrant invasion really beyond the pale.

The time when France could afford the luxury of being "politically correct" is long since past. Even Marine Le Pen is probably too politically correct at this point. France is going to have to dig deeper if it has any hope of surviving.
