Sequel to 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith'
I just rewatched 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' and it was pretty entertaining, always fun to see the film that brought them together.
I had a fun thought when reading that Jolie wanted to do a sequel.
In June 2010, Jolie stated that she and Pitt had inquired about a sequel to the film but were dissatisfied with the story. Jolie stated: "We did ask somebody to look into Mr. & Mrs. to see if they could crack a sequel, but there wasn't anything original. It was just, 'Well, they're going to get married, or they've got kids, or they get separated.' Never great."
WHAT IF (), 'By The Sea' was the sequel to 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' where Jane & John are retired from the hitman life and they decide to start over with new names (Roland & Vanessa) in a new town. I know 'By The Sea' is supposed to be set in the 1970s, but hey, you never know.
Think about it haha, it almost works. They never give any background on Roland & Vanessa, except from what the characters told to other people what they are doing. It could be complete *beep*
Also another fun thing to notice, John Smith was always drinking in 'Mr. & Mrs. Smith' and he's also a drunk in 'By The Sea'
BY THE WAY, I know it's not a direct sequel, It's just a fun thought. Think about it next time you watch either films.
