What's up with Gorgeous Vortex on Blu-Ray?

Brad isn't going to renege on this twice, is he?

There were previous reports that the BD's were available in certain regions and GV was not on them...

I thought this was supposed to land already.

I would love to be proven wrong that GV is vapor...because it must be hysterically terrible to not make it into Viral, a film that is already terrible and desperately needs 20 more minutes on it's withered frame.

Well, I e-mailed Brad about it and he said to me that distributors in the UK and Canada were very much interested in releasing the film, including Gorgeous Vortex. Now, if that will happen or not, we'll see. What I do know is that the Australian version that I bought does NOT include it, unfortunately.

As of this moment, we're only sure that only 2 releases of Viral will include the short, which are the US one that Bloody Disgusting announced and a German, limited edition one that I found from a distributor named OFDb Filmworks that is limited to 3000 copies (there's a regular version of the Blu-ray, but GV is exclusive to the limited edition one).

I'll have to get that one, for sure... Oh, and German websites list Gorgeous Vortex with a runtime of 15 minutes.

Here's the link to the German edition: http://www.ofdb.de/view.php?page=fassung_vorab&fid=265576&vid= 59514&partner=2429

Those blu-rays were released before they even made an announcement Gorgeous Vortex will be on blu-ray as an extra.

Hah, got it. Like 'it's a really good film, but a ton of things were cut, but trust me, it was super awesome' sort of way?

It dared to be an extra on the Viral Blu-Ray? It's THAT good? It didn't even make it onto every BD?! This thing is pushing boundaries so hard it can't even sell itself as an extra?

It's that ground-breaking. So singular and amazing an 80 minute Viral could not possibly contain it. It can only really sing and reach it's audience as an extra.

What a bold EXTRA, cut from the film, talked up to be so big that it would be it's 'own' thing, and then revealed it would get a limited release as an extra on certain BD's in certain regions to the package of the film it was CUT FROM. Awesome.

How did you see it, if I may ask?

Well, you probably work for/with them. Saying that, I will watch it with an open mind, maybe I'll find it interesting.

Oh, and this month's (or March's?) Fangoria magazine has a special interview with Todd Lincoln in which he reveals all the secrets behind Gorgeous Vortex, so if anyone gets a change to read you could post the answer here, if you could do the favor.

Also, while we endlessly wait for another V/H/S, we'll also have the anthologies Tales From Halloween, XX and Holidays. Maybe those will be good, especially the first one.

Yeah, factionent10 is always white-knighting this movie and now he seems to have the inside scoop on GV. Coincidence? "Dares to behold"...who the hell says that. It sounds like a blurb on the back of a dvd cover.

In regards to the short itself it wouldn't surprise me if the BR came out and GV is missing still -_-
