For those who saw Gorgeous Vortex...
...would you be kind enough to write a detailed description of what happens? :)

So, what are the masked people doing in the segment? Some people say they rape the protagonist, some say they experiment on her.
I'm confused, what is it?
Also, what's this about a "killer bird"? That's what one reviewer mentioned. Is the segment gory or doesn't use gore at all, or just very little?
There was a review that described it as "art house" - that's definitely accurate. There is no dialogue. some screaming, and growling. appears to be a dream sequence of a beautiful woman who is haunted, followed, perhaps imagines herself being tortured as other women, and reappears. She returns to a place supposedly from her childhood, to kill a demon that she recognized. We then see her captured by beautiful women as the creature caresses her.
Finally, she appears in a sort of thrown room, carrying what looks like a birthday cake lit
By huge flames. It is offered to the same creature as before, and she begins to undress. End. There are various images to suggest different times and places, hence my wondering of dreaming/rebirth.
The experiments are not explained, neither are the hooded figures - other things happen intermittently that (to me) suggested many things. Regret, powerlessness, attempts at redemption... Whether these can actually be substantiated is another thing altogether I guess. One thing to keep in mind is that there is almost zero found footage. Random scattered moments (security camera here and there, someone holding a cam that you cant see, more for effect?)
I enjoyed it, but it was too distant to really be considered a short of the film, imho. Perhaps why it was not originally included afterall....
So, what exactly are the hooded figures doing and how gory the whole thing is?
Also, what's all this about a "killer bird"? I probably sound like a broken record, but I'd really appreciate it if someone answers these questions.
First they seem to spy, then she lets herself into a room where they take control of her. They run her under this scan machine, and after that they are simply onlookers at everything that is happening. This killer bird is probably the monster I mentioned...it looks rather similar to the evil creatures in "Dark Crystal". There is essentially no gore whatsoever. I rented it at a Family Video, and if you let the credits play, it will automatically go to the short.
shareC'mon, they are called Skeksis...their race does have a freakin' name you could address them by...
Not cool. Does the back of your hand still sting a little?
It's basically like george michael video meets eyes wide shut in a dark alley.
shareI mean let's be honest. The wrap around story hurt this movie so much. The segments are good. Dante is good. Parallel monsters is good. Even bonestorm I see as a clever take on skateboarding videos. And gorgeous vortex turns out to be a weird music video. That's actually quite good. It needed a better a better wrap around.
shareI agree, the wraparound left me thinking "what are they trying for?"
