Contest: Make Up Your V/H/S Outline

Since we're not getting a new V/H/S anytime soon, I'd thought it be fun to have a little contest to show off our own stories and ideias about what segments we would like to see in our perfect V/H/S film.

The rules are simple. Pitch 3 to 5 stories (wrap-around included), describe their outlines/plots in short sentences and rate each others' stories.

Example, as taken from V/H/S/2:

“Searching for a missing student, two private investigators break into his abandoned house, which contains another collection of mysterious VHS tapes. In viewing the horrific contents of each cassette, they realize there may be terrifying motives behind the student’s disappearance.”

And another example, taken from V/H/S Viral:

...segments include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power; a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world; teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual; and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer.

So the goal is to combine these two to make an outline of your perfect V/H/S film. Have fun :)

Wraparound:Some childrens who live next to the guy (who have the vhs tapes)have the idea to enter the house of that guy and record some stuffs with their new vhs camera, they secretly enter the house, always hiding from that guy and without he knows the childrens get some of his vhs and go back to their house to watch it. They were alone in the house with the cousin and her friends, who are making a big party instead of babysitting as she said.
The childrens start to watch the vhs and in some point all them feel strange like the people who watch the vhs do, except the kid who were deaf and can't listen to the bad frequencys the tapes have, and this kid start to feel scary of what happened to his friends.

Segment includes a chef who wins a contest on the tv and was going to show her best recipes to the world, but the critics start to act strange when eating her food, a story of journalists investigating a doll factory who the costumers says the dolls are having growing hair and nails. A story of some guys who said they will call a prostitute to his friend lose his virginity, but end up calling a frightening sect, and a story of guy who steals a camera of a woman and when watch the footage, there is something absurdly horrible, and then he begins to be pursued by the lady.

No, I just think it's a cool ideia to know what each person thinks of their perfect V/H/S film. I don't have any connections with the makers... Otherwise, Viral would've been very different.

I've been playing around with this idea for some time now

The wraparound- A concerned neighbor visits the man who lives next door because of the disturbing sounds that had been heard from his house and the sudden eerie quietness. He finds the door unlocked and finds that his neighbor and his editing and splicing together films. To get a better understanding of what happened in this house. As he watches, he feels his body changing but cannot bring himself to look away.

The segments would include a man who finds out what lies beyond death, a conspiracy theorist who discovers a radio signal originating from a place beyond reality and a scientist who finds terrifying truths locked in our DNA.

Thats all I got for this outline. What do you guys think?

Damn, that's impressive! Great idea of the neighbour entering the man's house and finding an "editing room" full of spliced clips and cuts. Feels like it's got a Se7en vibe to it, which is great.

Here's mine:

New York City, winter of 1997. In one of the city's most decayed and run-down neighborhoods lives a once famous news reporter who saw his rise and fall back in the 1980s. After finding out that within the city's darkest alleys and streets operates an underground network of tape traders who are said to share horrifying footage, the reporter, along with a videocamera and a handgun, sets out to tell the World what is truly happening in the city... But, as he gathers information and starts piecing the puzzle, a mysterious box full of VHS tapes is left at his doorstep, and he feels that someone, or something, is following him.

Segments include the story of a college student who is kidnapped and forced to participate in a brutal gameshow where the price of losing is death; a man who finds himself battling for his life after waking up inside a UFO during the Phoenix Lights phenomenon; a scientist who documents his breakthroughs with human experiments; and a collection of snuff films shot by a sadistic serial killer whose career spans over entire decades.

PS: By the way, BlackLight101, that part of "he feels his body changing but cannot bring himself to look away" is unbelievably creepy...
