Like OK I'm a huge fan of the series. But after the years I'm still trying to figure out. What's the story to these movies. Like the overall story. Like I remember when the 2nd or 3rd one came out reading about how there's a organisation or a cult doing these things and getting these tapes. But watching them again I don't really see how. Like how are these tapes all connected somehow and who gets them all. Like in the 2nd one after the guy fails to kill himself. They never explained why or what he was doing there.and why he wanted to kill both the girl and the guy ( I assume he killed the girl) like who calls them and the group from the first one in and why. I just really need to know the full explanation of the series overall story. So if anyone can help i would be really appreciate it. Because it's really bugging me that I can't get the whole story down pat lol. Usually I can but this is one of those times I can't which almost never happens

I read similar speculations from fans, that the reason why those videos are on tapes is because there are some people who sell them as snuff videos.

But those were all theories and I think fans put way more thought into the whole thing than the creators.

Well, he had all those tapes (how he got them is a mystery) and he knows that the tapes affect your mind somehow, he plans to make his own tape and then commits suicide. He comes back as a zombie thing. I guess the same thing happened to the old man in the first movie.

As for the story of the series: there are these tapes that come from various sources. Who makes the tapes is never explained. When people watch the tapes they go crazy or something. Something plans to spread them to the whole world.

That's pretty much it from what I remember. All the wraparound segments in these movies are so poorly written that I think it would be better if they simply didn't have them.
