I believe that's the implication.
I definitely agree with your assessment that Zev wasn't concerned about getting caught, but I think his actions were more due to his dementia.
He left a dead dog and a man too -- and I'm sure any trace on the bullets and would find the gun and who it was sold to so I think you are right.
It might also be noted that Max didn't appear overly concerned either. We can see why by the end.
Yes he did just leave his clothes in the bathtub. And so when the cop didn't return to work the next day they would have gone to his house and then discovered him an yes he did just leave his clothes in the bathtub. And so win the cup done return to work the next day they would have gone to assassin and discovered him in the divorce d the dog. In real life they would have caught up to him much quicker then allowing him to get to the last house. After all if the father could find him through the taxi company the police would find him much soon . You just have to realize some things are a movie and entertaining and not real life.
