Dumb cop, dumb hit-man, dumb good guy, smart girl... (contains spoilers)

As every cop knows, whenever you go to investigate something you ALWAYS radio back to your base station to let them them know where you are and what you're doing and then radio back again after you finish, if the base station doesn't hear back from you within say 20 minutes they will try to contact you and if they can't will send a patrol car with at least 2 cops in it to investigate. And if anything should happen to them then 200 cops would very quickly lockdown the whole area. That would have been the end of the hit-man's 'career'.

And as every hit-man knows, if you kill a cop you had better start running because if you hang around all night - see the first paragraph.

And all hit-men (as well as good guys in a stand-off situation with a hit-man) know you need to be alert, sober, and in full control of your senses so as you can manage a standoff, the last thing you do is to open a bottle of whiskey and get drunk!

The only person who had any sense was the girl who after witnessing the murders took a photo of the hit-man which could be used as evidence, though a smart hit-man would have kept his mask on until he was well away from the cemetary and sure that no-one was following him or watching him.

hitman said he killed too many / countless times that he feel so ease doing it sleep tight at nites, unmasking at cemetary happens to be that one day where he made a mistake

Easily the weakest part of the plot line and the worst part of an otherwise tense and taut script.

The only defense you can make is the "kid" was determined to "earn his wings" on his own. That, and he didn't want to look foolish to his condescending superior if what he thought he heard (gunshots) turned out to be something easily explained.

Still, I kept wondering when the superior would figure out something went wrong and investigate, but it never happened.

To me it was believable because the story takes place in a soon to be ghost town where nothing ever happens. If the kid cop calls for back up and they find out that it was just fireworks or something, the veteran cops are going to mock him and shame him for the rest of his life. Everybody in that small town will know about it and the story will spread like a virus in town. It's a *beep* place where nothing happens. The cop makes a mistake, but it's an emotional mistake that makes sense to me in the context.

The bigger issue with the story to me is a hitman that removes his mask and shows his face in broad daylight in a cemetery where people could be visiting their lost ones. That's really stupid and doesn't fit the character.

As for the hero drinking, he's an alcoholic. You may not want to be in withdrawal during a standoff. I felt like drinking and I was just watching the movie.

Glad this site is up, because sometimes I enjoy venting to the world after I watch a movie....

Oh my god OP, you named all the dumb people, but YOU DID NOT NAME THE STUPID FUCKING WIFE, WHAT A STUPID BITCH, FIRST SHE LEFT THE LITTLE GIRL, SHE LITERALLY RAN OFF TELLING HER TO COME ON, WHY WOULD THEY WRITE SUCH AN INCOMPETENT CHARACTER??? I'm sure it was to piss me off. Yeah, that's it. THEN, FOR A GOOD 5 MINS SHE LEFT THE GIRL IN THE HOUSE NOT KNOWING IF SHE WAS IN DANGER FOR FUCKS SAKE. It's a movie, it's a movie, it's a movie, serenity now. Serenity now.

Movie was pretty good, I enjoy situational movies, and it held me because I knew certain outside events would affect the overall situation. Sigh. That dumb bitch. Serenity now.

That’s just the way movies are.
