After being nominated every year on The Colbert Report and winning twice, Colbert isn't even nominated during the first year of his new show. That's gotta sting for him and hurt his ego. Not only does his new show not have great ratings, it also doesn't have the critical acclaim that his old show used to.

I don't think anyone here is surprised by this news. I'd like to think that Stephen has enough self awareness to know that this wasn't in the cards, but, based on how funny he seems to think he is, I don't know the full extent of the bubble.
You might also have noticed that Trevor Noah didn't get any nods. That's another Emmy award winning writing team who's being pushed aside to make way for far less talented people. Both teams had at least another 5 years of nominations/wins, but, these days, Stephen and Trevor wouldn't know talent if it bit them in the ass.
I see Samantha Bee got a nomination for writing. That's gotta sting. Float like a butterfly, sting like a Samantha Bee? ;) Eric Drysdale must be gloating.
