It's a Shame

Dave was a lefty but the whole show wasn't a leftist love fest.

Hate that this has become an anti-Trump infomercial for DEMs.

Who wants such thick politics every night before bed?

Unwatchable.

DISNEY can't be trusted!

you know, it's not really that lefty to be against Trump. it's just human. every conservative with half a brain cell should know that this man is ruining it for all of us.

reply

Wasn't my point really.

Was that a few political jokes both ways is fine (oh wait, NOTHING funny about Hillary is there Colbert) but the entire production is a political rally.

Yeah, I think it's just because it's Trump. Colbert does make fun of Hillary (as does Trevor Noah, and Jon Stewart made fun of Obama and other Dems), but you have to admit, with Trump there's a lot more material. It would be different if the Republican nominee was, say, Romney or McCain (someone normal, I mean), or even Jeb Bush. Trump's candidacy is a free-for-all for comedians.

The cocaine monologue was beyond ridiculous. He obviously had a runny nose probably from all the traveling (that Hilary doesn't do).

A large percentage of folks (perhaps not the majority but a large group) prefer a show that makes them think and not the mindless stuff that Fallon does of the frat boy stuff that Kimmel does. It is good that people have a choice. I used to love Dave but for the last few years he had mailed it it and was just collecting a paycheck. Nothing was better then the early Dave but the later Dave was hard to watch. I for one look forward to Colbert and think it is an improvement.

I agree with you. I find that Colbert and to a pronounced degree Seth Meyers tend to offer more cerebral humor and each of their formats well suits their time period.
