Just when I thought Batiste couldn't get any worse ....

Not sure if anyone else feels this way, but in my opinion, Batiste is becoming even more annoying as the weeks go by. He's literally RUINING the monologues. He seems to think that he's having a private conversation with Colbert, as opposed to realizing that Stephen is talking to the audience (both studio and home alike). What I mean by this is that, more than ever before, Batiste seems to be going out of his way to get both his voice and face on camera as much as possible. Last Friday's show was the worst one yet. Batiste didn't shut his mouth at all during the monologue, with his constant laughing, singing, repeating what Stephen just said, etc. ~ I actually found myself yelling at the t.v. screen for Batiste to just shut up ....

Oh, and don't even get me started on his dancing around every time the camera is on him ... I've never seen such a HAM on any talk show as this guy !!!

Yeah, I'm hoping at some point it's announced that Batiste is going on a music tour. That would be the easiest way to get him out of there without firing him. Then they could try out a few guest band leaders while he's on "tour", and find someone that really compliments Stephen's humor.
Then a couple months later Batiste will announce that he loves touring so much that he won't be coming back to the late show.
Just have the band leader be a comedian that can't play an instrument but can wave a conductors baton around for the band.

it seems to me they're embracing the fact that he's the shíttiest sidekick ever and are trying to make it "ironic". like ha ha look how I can't even say a single straight sentence and how unfunny and awkward I am, it's because I'm doing it on purpose because that's just how hip and fresh I am. ugh KILL ME

I don't know if he's the worst ever because most of them are bad. It's hard to match the Carson-McMahon dynamic. Andy Richter on Conan emulates it the most but has become "ironic" or a parody of itself. Guillermo on Kimmel is interesting because he conducts pre-taped interviews like he did at the Emmys the other night, plus it's at least made to look like he can't understand and/or speak English very well. The late night talk show sidekick thing is pretty much played out and the band leader as a sidekick thing is definitely played out. I think bands aren't worth it other than having them play to warm up the studio audience & during breaks, which we at home only see glimpes of. Craig Ferguson did it best with no band and a robot skeleton sidekick.

Thank you !!! I cannot stand him either!! It's so hard to watch this show anymore. His stupid laughing and I agree he tries to insert himself in the monologue all the time. The whole chest bump at the beginning of every show is annoying too. He cannot even complete a sentence!! There isn't enough time to list all the things that are annoying about this moron!!! Please please CBS get rid of them !!!! Please I beg you !!!

The drummer is just as annoying. Please CBS... Get rid of them !!! I beg you!!!

The nightly chest bumps and laughing coming from Batiste are quite annoying. Letterman and Shaffer, on the other hand, were great...and so were Leno and Eubanks as well!

Is it just me, or has he been exceptionally annoying the past couple weeks? Way too much "yeaaaaaahhhhhh" and other shouts.

Oh my god I can't stand him either.
He opens his mouth constantly ,singing ,giving his opinion on Colbert jokes during the monologue.

He ruins the monologue ,Colbert is just to nice to confront him about it is my guess
