The world is your lobster.
I hope so! They never should have been taken off the air in the first place. They are doing a service to our country.

Looks like it's just a kickstarter campaign at the moment. I'm a little disappointed. I anticipated it might be a web-series or something though.

I don't think so... at least not in this form. There was a LOT of controversy on how the show was taking control over the investigations which is illegal, entrapment issues, conflict of interest issues... This caused all of the charges to be dropped in the Murphy Texas episode. They also lost a LOT money in lawsuits (particularly the one where the D.A. Louis Conradt Jr. committed suicide in Texas).
shareIt was an interesting show, but these guys weren't doing anything wrong, unless they live in states with serious legislative overreach. They were never talking to minors as they thought, but to police operatives. But intending to do something that in actuality is not illegal (consensual sex with the decoy) should not be enough to put someone in jail. Real sex with actual minors, yes, but that was never any danger here.
It was amazing when they could the same guy on two separate occasions.
you're an idiot Hodie... first off they were talking to someone they honesty thought were an underage boy or girl and going to the home they thought the child lived in to engage in illegal activities.
The reason why they still do these type of stings is because you want to stop someone before they have sex with a child.
You seem like the type of person who would be ok with child molestation and think it's alright if you aren't caught.
Fact is they were wrong for trying to have sex with someone they honesty thought was a child..
I have read that this show would not go over that well now because technology and the internet are much different now than it was 10-15 years ago when this was on. Are there "chatrooms" anymore? I remember back in the 1990's when I discovered the internet that I used to go to chatrooms because it was funny to talk to all the weirdos and mess with people.
I have also on occasion have had sex chatter with someone I guess was female, but the person could have been male posing as a female, or a 12 year old posing as an adult. I never over reached and asked to meet anyone or try to get sex, although then I was single and would pay for sex with strangers on occasion. But I would not walk into someone's house because it might be a trap and I would get beaten or killed, or worse, the cops.
These idiots on this show were out trying to get in the sack with young kids, like 13 year olds and they should be humiliated and taken off the streets. Random hookups or paying for sex I have no problem with (prostitution should be legal and the government out of the bedrooms of the people).
Chat Rooms still exist, but they are barren places, the few that still exist and do well are typically very informal and not localized like AOL or even Yahoo chats back in the day.. I think Yahoo and AOL still both have chats.. Haven't gone on AOL chats for about 6 years but they were kind of like, meh, and Yahoo chats are overrun by bots.
I think if they brought this back it would be via Facebook or Craigslist. Although I'm not really sure it would have the same impact as before..
Yeah, entrapping pedos would have be in the form of a Craigslist or Facebook advertisement these days as chatrooms have fallen to the wayside. Also, the police could no longer be involved because the media's presence caused legal conflicts with the investigations.
shareWell, Louis C. K. did explain if we hated child molesting a little less we'd save more children's lives.
shareI've caught a few episodes and it's pretty much the same thing. Seems like instead of yahoo chat they are now using an app called Whisper (never heard of it). The episodes are slow to roll in, I think mostly in part because the pedophiles are well aware of what to look for and how to avoid an encounter with Hansen. Whereas 10 years ago the internet was still a fairly new commodity for a lot of people. Although there was one guy on the new show who had no idea who Hanson was. They also make it very clear that they don't initiate any conversations with anybody. I'm guessing to get around the entrapment claim. I'm sure all the lawyers have looked at every possible loophole before they brought this kind of show back, because MSNBC lost a lot of money when they got sued.
