Did the kid who named him not see the other giants? He's a really small giant.

Being a runt doesn't make you that much smaller.
That's exactly what I thought (The Small Friendly Giant). I've never read the book but I assume that Roald Dahl must have written it this way. Having said that, I simply don't get why he would make the rest of the giants nearly three times as big as the BFG himself.
