As to the security precautions - they have been forced to introduce them by an extremist group which caused the cancelling of the previous screening - isn't it feminists who have complained about "victim blaming"?
I am from Central Europe and I am glad that such extremism has not (at least for now) taken roots in my country. As to the alleged "frustration", I would certainly feel frustrated if such situation happened in my city with a movie I would like to see.
I wonder how you would feel if the screening of your "Wonder Woman" was cancelled due to the pressure from, for instance, Islamic fundamentalists.

That sounds like a lot of empty rhetoric. Do you have a link to the actual study he draws these numbers from? The report has no sources and I am not an Australian citizen so I haven't the faintest what he is talking about.

reply

[deleted]

I actually found the source for his statistics trying to look up materials for the Royal Commission. It is from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, http://d3bo5ucoqkgs8h.cloudfront.net/CxGHj/3/. That does not mean they are the culprits of actual violence under the dictionary definition of the word however. Australia is very liberal with its application and there isn't much of a consensus on just what that definition is. It also may include not just threats as well but also nonviolent coercion like seclusion, forbidding them from seeing friends and family, or withholding support. http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/[email protected]/mf/4906.0

I feel that they may have poisoned the well when they came up with the wording of the report. They spend the vast majority of it focusing on women, who may be the majority, but call for its application to pretty much everyone. "Prevention efforts must be targeted to all forms of family violence, such as elder abuse, violence against men, including gay, bisexual and transgender men, and violence used by young people in the home." This is ironic as going by the trailer of The Red Pill, this was something that one of the MRAs made a similar statement on the same subject. https://youtu.be/HK7n_XA40V8?t=5m47s

I talk to many people that work in Women's shelter and guess what? The Women that have suffered domestic violence are often perpetrators themselves.

Consider the experience of Erin Pizzey. The first person to set up the world's first Battered Women's shelter who then, over the years, began to notice that almost all of them were violent themselves ie causing a lot of trouble in the shelter by assaulting other Women or bragging about assaulting their Husbands and getting away with it. She went public wit this information and, surprise surprise, started getting death threats from guess who? Militant feminists. Feminism is not about equality, its a hate group focusing on the advancement of Women at the expense of Men who ironically too poor to have any patriarchal power whatsoever over anyone, let alone Women.

Not at all. A males life is expendable and disposable compared to a females and not as worthy. Since it likes to get promoted that the evil that man does is more pronounced than a females, then we just have to take the medicine and swallow it without much ballyhoo.

Males aren't allowed to whine and complain about how they can be mistreated and abused, not only by other males, but by other females as well. It's just not cool. If a female is painted as anything but a holier than thou, sweet cherished soul, it becomes salacious and a non-entity. We can't malign females over vile and wicked men, it's just not a "truism". They will never be sexist, misandrist or chauvinistic sows. Not to mention how females can be the biggest misogynists regarding their own gender.

Basically what it's come down to is that modern women want us men to just shut up and do as we're told, because women know best... for them and us. They want to turn the tables on men who were unknowingly doing this to women all of those years... because men are evil.

I am not familiar with the Australian reality, but such statistics tend to be misleading. For example, I wonder how many men were killed in family-related violence at the same time. Providing numbers out of context, without reference to the details of methodology, information on how the data was gathered and interpreted, etc., tells us nothing. If politicians refer to such figures they nearly always do so to fulfil their current political goals and not for any other reason.
Anyway, whatever the current political climate is, it does not justify the cowardly decision to cancel the Red Pill screening. I hope that the cinema chain which did it will lose lots of viewers and the movie will only receive more interest and attention. It deserves so, because it expresses attitudes of many people who are usually silenced and points to the problems which are otherwise ignored.
As to making a fantasy character an honorary UN ambassador - it only points to the fact that the organization has largely become a joke.

And I'm sure that you would like to equally highlight the plight of around 100 000 men who are known to experience violence from their female partners, not including the additional men who are believed to suffer from female instigated intimate partner violence but are too ashamed to seek help. Not that any help is available for them.
I'm sure you would agree that the more than 50 men who are murdered by their female partner every year (again, it's a known fact that male victims of domestic violence are murdered at about half the rate of female victims).

Why do you need to identify as a "feminist" though? Can't you just identify as a human being in female form, which comes with it's attributes, imperfections and challenges. Same as with males. What does this identity do or prove for you? It is compartmentalizing yourself into some deluded and phony ideal that represents either a superior attitude over males—which many feminists accuse men of doing—or just endorse how resentful of men feminists really are and how bitter they are within themselves.

Men are not going to change their behavior towards themselves, other males or females, just because 'feminists' think they should. Men have been men throughout time and history and feminist just need to accept them for the way they are. Men aren't trying to change women, they don't need too. They don't need to take a step backwards. It is women that are attempting to step up and still can't quite fit into the mould they would like too. Too bad!

And women can marry financially independent men, they're a dime a dozen also, thanks to Masculinism. How do you know it's because of feminism, that these women are fiscally buoyant? We are all a product of our time and something that was going to happen with or without feminism. Don't give yourself that much credit for your deluded and deranged movement.

Feminists have been ridiculed over the past century and still are. If you now have equal opportunity, what else and what more do you want that you don't already have as women? Many of you are already acting the roles that men have done and still do and it makes no darn difference to how selfish, self-serving, self-entitled and narcissistic people are. YOU ARE JUST GOING ABOUT THE SAME BUSINESS THAT YOU HAVE ACCUSED MEN OF. And not all women want to be feminists and career orientated. They appreciate and enjoy men and don't need to put themselves up on some fake and wobbly pedestal. My, what a big crash you will all make when you fall.

You are compartmentalizing to the arrogant, competitive and egotistical women in society and speak as though that is what all women should want. You're grandmother's may not have wanted the same opportunities you do. What about what women DO to men and their own violent tendencies? Of course they get a free pass for feeling so insecure and needy for men in their lives and it is always the man's fault.

Even that female anchorwoman was getting hot under the collar when she was hearing something she didn't want too. Yes, 1% is not plaque\epidemic proportions and where do women start to take responsibility for the men they CHOOSE to get with and what about their own vile attitudes? What is the government doing about addressing the violent crimes that are stemming from the low socio-economic areas? Pick up artists(PUA:s) have nothing in common with the men's rights movement(MRM). They use pick up to get girls, and to get girls they sometimes call themselves "red pilled", meaning they think they have acquired a deeper understanding of female nature, compared to the average Joe. The term red pilled comes from the movie matrix, and it means to be able to see something that was previously hidden, to see beyond the matrix, so to speak.

A man is red pilled, when he thinks he understands how women think or behave, but he can also be red pilled for example when he puts some other pieces of any other puzzle together, to understand literally anything else. When he understands it, he becomes red pilled, and can see the world for what it really is, or rather, what he now thinks it is. For instance why the immigration crisis really happened, or why the media lies constantly to protect their corporate interest, why the fed is never audited etc. etc.

PUA:s are often mistaken to be apart of the MRM, and are sometimes even confused with the mgtow by feminists, because in one typical instance of feminist faux knowledge creation, some feminist got confused with the meaning of the word manoshphere(every male dominated area or dealing with men's issues, lumped together on the internet), and then the factoid spread like in the case of a broken phone. Feminists rarely to never actually do any fact checking, or challenge each other for using junk science, even when they know its fake, out of fear of confrontation I suppose(hence the notoriously bad studies about one in one being raped every second).

So the manosphere is just an artificial construct then, that has no actual meaning to anyone, but to the feminists themselves. They infuriatingly use their faulty term usage, as proof that the wrong terms they use, are the real ones. As an analogy, I don't have anything in common with my next door neighbor, although we live in the same apartment building. If you asked a feminist she/he might claim we are the same person though, because she heard another feminist say it once. This is how the feminist echo chamber dynamic skews reality in their own minds and midst, and unfortunately it then often spills to the main stream media also, and then finally as facts to clueless politicians.

These are few reasons why feminist echo chambers are so toxic, spread so many lies and why movies like this are so desperately needed to debunk all the myths feminist spread.

MRA's are sometimes annoying but they do make good points. But MGTOW is just totally creepy. You have people like the sandman who speaks for MGTOW whose basic philosophy is that men should avoid falling in love with women, because all women are lying, back stabbing, gold digging sluts. Which is just pretty cynical and misogynistic. It's just as bad as women who think 1 in 5 men are rapists, or similar garbage.

There's nothing wrong with men going their own way, if that's how they feel. But they don't need to be so bitter about it. MGTOW is messed up.

You just did exactly the thing the post you replied to was oomplaining about. Talk about lack of self awareness.

Sandman does not speak for MGTOW. Do some *beep* research, or refrain from making statements about things you clearly are clueless about.

reply

Actually he does speak for MGTOW. Maybe not all MGTOWers are as misogynist as he, but the philosophy is basically the same: Heterosexual men have no incentive to get romantically involved with women. It's hair-brained.

You are equating Red Pill with PUA which is incorrect. Red Pill is a recent phenomenon involving Men protecting themselves financially, in the same way that Women have been financially protecting themselves through their practice of hypergamy for thousands of years. PUA stands for pick up artist, which has been around for long time.
My understanding is that Paul Elam was joking, but you can't presume to know that the producer of Red Pill was even aware that he made any comment. Unless the comment was made in the documentary, you cant honestly assume She was even aware. It's dishonest for you to assume in that way (Your habit of connecting disparate elements constantly on this board is manipulative). Having said that Women routinely shame Men in comedies, films, sitcoms, variety shows etc etc. A great example of this is in this video link - https://youtu.be/TPihPrNseAo?list=RDPvDwB1fA7ck - where Women joke and ridicule a man after he was attacked and disfigured by a Woman, and yet the same show expects only violence against Women to be treated with the utmost of respect. Women in public office routinely express shaming language towards Men and are never censored or sacked while Men that do are inundated with predictable shaming language and lose their jobs. An important scientist, Tim Hunt (who is married to a Feminist), had comments taken out of context, and was sacked and ridiculed by a pack of angry militant Feminists who couldn't be bothered to find out the facts. There is no patriarchy, but there sure is a Matriarchy femstate. This is especially true under eights years under a US President that self identified as a feminist. No living politician would commit political suicide by self indentifying as a Man's Rights Activist. This proves the feminist agenda is mainstream and has managed to bring about systemic prejudice against Men and Boys.

The producer, Cassie Jaye, is aware of the comment, she's well aware of where it comes from and she's well aware of why it exists. I have no idea of whether or not it was mentioned in the film as I haven't seen it yet (missed the only weekend I had to see it when it was screened in NY), but Cassie has expressed that she knows what it's about on other videos/streams. And yes, Paul Elam was being satirical. The article from which the quote comes from explicitly states it is satire at the end of the piece.

Interesting thing regarding Tim Hunt's situation. He made his joke in a room full of women who all laughed at the joke. What's more interesting is that I haven't heard if any woman who was there actually spoke up for Tim Hunt to keep his position. I think that says a whole lot more.

Eventually I think a Male journalist did, who, predictably become inundated by personal attacks by vengeful Women. Speaking of Scientists, they say that the female of the species is always the more vicious ........... .

No we'd amuse ourselves at how insecure you are . You've got a bad case of Penis Envy. But to be fair I'd have to go easy on you in real life. You are of course a member of the weaker sex. I wouldn't want to trigger you into more tantrums.

others would call it progress

Well that's terrifying. But yes, the Roosh V thing sets a precedent, which is why everyone should be defending him, regardless of whether you like him or not.

I don't see any indication that anything like that is going to happen with Paul Elam.

But I take if from your reply that you aknowledge that pickup artistry and the Men's Rights Movement have nothing to do with each other?

Any group identifying women and feminists

Women and feminists are two completely different things. Nobody is blaming women. Cassie Jaye is a woman. I shouldn't have to spell this out.

personally, I don't discriminate either.

I don't care what you personally do. Nobody is going to ban Paul Elam from entering the country because you would personally like it.

I still want to know what connection you draw between pickup artists and Men's Rights Activist. I'm really intrigued to know.

Youre right. Those links dont make any intellectual sense. But they make emotional sense, and in the minds of Women, thats all that matters. Logic goes out the window when a Woman starts to think.

They're treating this like Nazi-made Jewish propaganda. They can not be held accountable for anything.

Get off your soapbox while I play you a tune on the tiniest violin.

Men and women who support men should protest this in Melbourne, don't let yourself get silenced and cucked. Men in Melbourne matter.

No one deserves genital mutilation.

Anytime I hear a woman say 'eww, I would never be with an uncircumcised man' I shudder inside. So female genital mutilation is the worst thing in the world but it's ok for men to be cut? Some boys lose their entire penis to the procedure. http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/wtf/circumcision-mishap-led-to-malaysian-boy-9-losing-his-penis/news-story/de1d03358bed694da90df07f21b18caa

It's not uncommon. I care about women's rights, men's rights, human rights, animal rights, environmental protection. I am an environmentalist. In that regard I consider humans equal to flora and fauna in need for care and preservation. We are going to be extinct in a century or two if we don't wake the feck up and stop this petty bs soon.

All living things and the inanimate environment deserves our utmost attention before it is gone. Care for humans, care for animals, just stop making divisions. No more us and them.

MRA is different to MGTOW and PUA. Do not confuse the three. There are just as many nutter MRAs as there are 3rd wave/power feminists.

I do not agree with most of the arguments of MRA and side more with most feminist viewpoints (prior to the past years) but recently things are getting out of hand.

The problem is privilege. The privilege of beauty, of height, of age, of race - far more important nowadays than gender, in the first world anyway. I think that in the third world women's rights are still a huge issue.
