Film was fine, though predictable, until the end...

With that stupidly Hollywood scene on the tram where the disapproving lady from before looks at T Hanks after he has return, then looks back to her paper and gives him another glance as if to say "wow, you're that lawyer from before who I was disapproved of but I appreciate now since you saved the world, i.e. Amurica, mmmm".

Spielberg once again takes a decent historical drama and throws in that schmaltzy Hollywood crap which totally ruins the film for the rest of us with brains, bravo Spielberg!

If a half-a-second shot at the end of a movie ruins the whole thing for you, you should seriously reconsider how you rate films.

I find Oscar Bait infinitely more interesting than ticket bait

I rate films pretty harshly and a "half-a-second" shot it was not - it was a scene, don't try and dumb it down to "half-a-second" - it was much more than "half-a-second".

Yes it did ruin the film a bit, not completely, but enough to make me think "why Spielberg, why?", did it not also make you think something along those lines, if so why not?
