Just in case that wasn't intended as setup: the 50 megatons refers to power of the warhead, in equivalent tons of TNT. The only 50 megaton device ever produced (technically a bomb, not a warhead) actually weighed only about 30 tons.

shareYou're referring to the Tzar Bomba the Soviets detonated in the sixties? I think it wasn't meant to be ever used against an enemy, but more to show their power to the world.
Anyway, it was delivered by plane, which had to be modified to carry a bomb this size, and dropped with a bigass parachute so the pilots could get away in time.
