Did anyone catch the billboard for the Kubrick movie Spartacus in the movie? It was right before Donovan called his wife in Germany.

Also "Ein, Zwei, Drei" – One, Two, Three (1961), which is a comedy set in Cold War Berlin.

oh really and in that movie there is a reference to Spartacus

"get your pants on spartacus"

Spielberg has very publicly stated his entire career that Stanley Kubrick is his odo re filmmaking. this is I'm sure a nod to him.

There might be a little bit of Tom Hanks in there too. He certainly referenced "Spartacus" in "That Thing You Do."
