Interesting show with quite good performances

I am 5 episodes in, and it is getting better and better. I don't follow mma or other fighting sports, so i can't attest to the accuracy of this, even if it only serves as a backdrop to the characters.
I really like Frank Grillo, he has this quiet confidence on screen that makes him rather intense to watch.
The best performances though is from the guy that plays Keith, the scenes where he "lost" his Keychain was quite good, and from the guy that plays Jay, i really like this flawed character. I knew a guy in real life very similar to him, they play hard, and work hard, but eventually they either conform or die as it is a hard life. My friend sadly died young.

Anyways, if the writing holds up, it will be a great show.

Yea, I started watching it too. It's really good. Which makes me upset as to why this not largely known like it should. Why only have it for Direct tv only? You know how many ratings this could've gotten....smfh

I'm in Ontario Canada and stumbled across it half-way thru season 2 (I think) on BRAVO channel. I'm also surprised that it doesn't seem to be very well known since I think it's amazing. Not typical TV programming, more Movie caliber. Like Soporanos, which I also originally didn't watch as it was on HBO, but I got into it when they aired it on A&E.

I should just ditto your entire post. I stumbled across this gem of a show after stumbling across Jonathan Tucker in "The Black Donnellys". Tucker brought me to kingdom and he is phenom as Jay but....Grillo/Alvey is the centerpiece of this event. Remove him and you got nothing. I am so here for the Kulinas men + Keith.

Grillo is intense as hell. The man commands the screen. I'm here for the dynamics between him and his boys. I'm a fiend for father/son relationships. Any time Alvey waxes about his boys I eat it up. "I love my boys but they don't think I do. And it kills me that they think that."

Jay: As Alvey said "his whole life has been an adversity". The writing and acting are both incredible.

Keith: you never know to expect. Love the unpredictablility of this character.

Not really feeling Ryan's story. Nate's a Kulina so I at least got my eye on him. Same for Christina. Lisa I love her dynamic w/the Kulina men.

All in all glad I found this show.
