Extended from 30 to 40 episodes?

I missed this! I never saw any articles about that. That's so interesting.

So for anyone who isn't following.

After season 1 finished in Fall of 2014, The Audience Network announced that they were renewing Kingdom for a 2nd season (to air in Fall 2015) and a 3rd season (to air in Fall 2016).

But after season 2 aired in Fall 2015, they decide to extend season 2 for 20 episodes instead of 10, and the 2nd half of season 2 will begin airing on June 1, 2016.

So I'm assuming season 3 will be airing in 2017.

It's funny that they are calling this the 2nd half of season 2, rather than just calling it season 3 and then airing a 4th season next year.

A lot of 'political' labeling these with TV shows. Most do it for like Blu-Ray sales, syndication purposes, awards season, etc. I'm sure it's something like that going on.

It always drives me crazy that 'American Horror Story' gets labeled as a mini-series for awards reasons.
