Impressed by Jay character

Full disclosure, I did not watch the first season of Kingdom. However, I have watched all of season 2 so far.

Did Jay snap/lose control at any point in season 1?

He has been super intense in season 2 and there have been several times when I thought he would have lost control (meeting Laura's sugardaddy, their breakup). However, he has remained calm, which I find very refreshing. I am glad the writers have not used the stereotypical "crazy fighter with a trigger temper".

You really should go watch season 2. The character building in that season really helps the little things now that you might not notice without.

Without giving too much away, Jay's character started off as a loose cannon butthen he found a cause to turn himself into a better person. I felt like Jay went from the resident f- up to the person everybody looked up to and respected by the end on season 1. Great character building by Jonathan TUcker

I didn't see him as a loose canon. He was a party animal that was somewhat floundering. He's got demons, thanks to two shitty parents, but he's a devoted and caring person.

There's still a few Episodes left this Season but I agree. It would have been easy to write Jay into the 'Explosive fighter' arc. I hope they don't because I like that he's turned his life around (a little he still does drugs) and the character has so much to lose right now so I'm hoping he doesn't go off on Paul (?) and/or beat up Laura.

I own Season 1 but its been awhile since I watched it, I don't want to spoil anything but there was a feud with his mother's pimp and him setting out to kill some gangbanger with interesting results. I'd recommend watching Season 1 if you like his character, it won't disappoint.

Why did you decide to watch the second season when you haven't seen the first?
