is it just me or its hard to like Alicia...her character i mean....are they deliberetly trying to make her most hated character in the series ?
shareIt's not just you. I think Keith might have been right about her and as an audience we have a natural bias towards a woman who "doesn't act like a woman." I don't like her character, I don't feel sympathy for her, like last night when she got hit with the bottle I was less worried about her and more about Alvey and the gym and what it would mean for him financially if he had to cancel the fight, and I don't care if she stays or goes. I think it's because they keep making her this wishy-washy girl who goes from super aggressive and wants to be tough and doesn't care what people say to this insecure PITA who whines and complains about how she should be treated and needs rescuing when she does something stupid against advice. Now, in fairness I have similar issues with other characters. Ryan mister badass gets so whiny at the thought of anyone else getting Alvey's time, Jay can't decide if he wants to throw his life away or make something of it, Nate can't decide to be true to himself or stay in the closet forever etc. I just don't think Alicia's character has been fleshed out all that much and at this point I'm not sure I want to know any more about her.
shareI tend to love women that don't "act like a woman," or rather a stereotype, particularly if they're strong but I don't really find her all that strong. She seems like a whiny user. It annoyed me how she came in and got attitude with Lisa telling her she doesn't do drama then proceeds to try to hookup with Alvey and hooks up with Ryan, when there's no alternative. Even with her now being with Ryan, after telling him she didn't want to be there, she just comes across as a mooch. I just don't find her story all that interesting, her sister even less so.
