why did Jay lure Will out on a fake date?
What was his motive? What did he want?
shareI think he wanted to see who his brother was hooking up with. He obviously finally realizes his brother is gay.
shareYeah, that was weird to me. I assume he suspected Nate's sexuality and decided to catfish Will to confirm his suspicions, but I hate that he likely ruined any chance of Nate and Will getting back together.
shareI had hoped he would play match maker and bring Will and Nate back together. But given his current mental state, it is not likely to happen. Sad.
shareFound it odd myself. Jay already knew it was a guy cause he called his voicemail after finding the card.
I wonder if Jay thinks Will is the guy that paid him all that money.
You brought up an interest point.
I don't think Will need to pay people to have sex with him, but Jay doesn't know that. Good thing he didn't beat will up.
Ugh, I hated that subplot. Jay didn't know about Nate getting drugged and raped so I imagine Jay was just being weird. Now I'm sad that Nate and Will will likely never get back together. :/ Good job, Jay.
shareIs it clear that Nate got raped? It seems to me the drug Bob gave him only lowered his inhibition and he had some fun with a guy and a girl while Bob watched.
shareNate was drugged, and he couldn't give his 100% sober consent. To me and many courts, that is rape. If my friend told me she or he was put in the exact situation and they did not want to have sex that way, then that is rape. A rapist could easily claim they wanted to just lower his or her victim's inhibitions, not rape anyone. Really? The point is, Nate couldn't give clear consent to the act - at that point his body was just responding while his mind was a bit behind on what was happening. A lot of women who are drugged may fully engage physically in the sexual act, but that "consent" was coerced or influenced by a drug. Some people think that "giving in" to the drug and succumbing to the physicality of the act negates the idea of rape. No, that's either the victim going along to avoid being killed, or their body is just responding in a way that is "natural" (i.e., a guy being raped could still get an erection because that's just the body's natural response to such stimulation) despite what their emotions are saying, or can't say due to the influence of alcohol, etc..
If the situation had happened to say Lisa, then I imagine more people would be with me here...
I'm with you on it. Whether drugged or by force, Nate's ability to consent was taken from him. He was violated.

Very good post on drugs and "rape". Plus he felt enormously violated and was enraged.
shareI absolutely agree with what mahou said about rape being about consent. Even though Nate gave into the encounter, he was drugged and never actually gave consent, so it was rape. I would also say that Nate's reaction the morning after makes it clear that he was highly distressed by what happened and the choice of whether or not he wanted to hook up with those people was taken away from him.
shareI need to know which episode the rape happened. š Can anyone tell me?
