I like the series but I wish they would ...

I wish they would film most of the episodes out in the world instead of them been most of the time in the Annex, just like the movies after all it's an adventure and action series .

I understand that filming in an office/precinct ... is cheap and convenient for the TV series but for an Adventure type of show they must explore more and show places we're not used to see like a British show I watched lately "Hooten & the Lady", I wish The Librarians would do it too.

I'll ask this question here... I watched the first episode but didn't like the tone which I think I remember was low budget/juvenile/campy. Does the series settle into a better version of itself at any point? If it does I'd like to give it another chance as I generally like these kinds of shows.

I don't think the show changed much from the pilot episode , if anything you get used to it after awhile, what I can tell you is that there is two shows inside one show :

One with Flynn usually the show is centered around his character and he becomes the Alpha along with Baird the rest just follows him around and also where the show has a continuity story and the season's arc villain.

And the other without Flynn, where the show is a procedural about the rest of the cast you know that by the end of the episode everything will get solved and forgotten.

IMHO the ones with Flynn are better but they need to tone down Flynn's character and let the cast mature and stop whining.

Thanks. I think I'll leave the show alone as it seemed written for an even younger audience than Syfy shows like Warehouse 13.

I never got the feeling this show was written for younger people. Always struck me as being written for people old enough to get the humor. I see it as a made for television parody of the adventure genre movies that featured heroes like Indiana Jones, Alan Quatermain, etc.

I agree with everything you said. I think the problem with the show is that it is too much about Flynn's character. The show is "The Librarians," not "The Librarian." The episodes without Flynn seem to have no direction. This makes the show seem very disjointed. It has no flow. A good example of that is the episode, "And the Reunion of Evil." Jacob throws in a statement that he's pissed about having to clean up Flynn's backlog. Where did that come from and where is it going? It came out of nowhere. There was no basis for it. And, it went nowhere. We're four episodes after that, and nothing has been said since.

The "And the trial of the Triangle" episode made absolutely no sense. They all stand alone. There is nothing connecting the episodes, they all seem random with no explanation (maybe a one liner like the one in "And the Reunion of Evil") and no direction. This season has the best episodes, but lacks the cohesion of the previous seasons.

Exactly, the Closest thing we got of a continuity story is if you watched only the episodes where Flynn is present and that makes the rest of the episodes without him unnecessary and brings nothing to the story, and that contradict with the whole Librarians they're pushing for.

They need to make each episode centered around one of the Librarians even if Flynn is present and connect the dots with every episode and make a the big arc around the Library not Flynn that way we don't need only Flynn to get a continuity.

I don't wanna hear another do your things and I'm going to save the Library alone it's been done like 5 times already.

If you don't like self aware tongue in cheek entertainment, then this show is not for you.

Seldom have I found a television series that I anxiously await the next installment. I loved the original movies, and I admit it took me awhile to warm up to the concept of more than one Librarian- not to mention Noah Wyle playing only occasionally- but this show is a winner! It's entertaining, funny and most episodes are well written.
I thoroughly enjoy it.

That sounds like a question for Charlene and the budget. I'm sure they would give you exec producer credits if you underwrote the on location scenes.

šŸ˜ I think Charlene is already out there enjoying the world herself LOL

You may be right because although I wouldn't mind that they are outside more and exploring but it's probably because they have such good interactions with one another while at the Annex that I am not bothered by it. It's about budget as well.

Is this show actually very good? I watch a lot of shows similar to this (Leverage, Grimm, Charmed, The Magicians, Incorporated, ect) Should I start watching? From the clips and trailers I have see n it seems kind of Silly and cheesy (the pilot)

How many of the "Libarian Movies" do I need to watch? I have one of them on my DVR.

The show is a very silly show and is absolutely meant to be. It is made by the same people that brought you Leverage. If you liked that show, much of the same humour is at play, as are some of the same dynamics. This cast is less gifted than the cast of Leverage, but it does feature Christian Kane playing a part very similar to what he did on Leverage.

As for the three movies that came before the show, you don't need to have seen any of them, though they are a lot of fun and will fill in a great many of the backstory details, especially about Flynn and the Library itself.

The show is campy, there is no getting around that. Personally, I enjoy watching how the writers weave together so many historic/legendary/mythic stories to create their own. The first season is, IMHO, the best of the three. Some people complain that the episodes whithout Noah Wylie seem to be throw-away ones. I disagree, especially in season one. In that season, each and every episode contributes something to the grand finale in the final episode of the season.

Oh stone was in a monstary retreat and they were in the cold icey region somewhere so they dont always stay in the annex I would say we need to see more of the library
