Mel brings it again loved this movie
Get the Gringo was also really good I hope he keeps this up.
8.5/10 for me 😃

9 out of 10 for me. If his career is headed to this path of films with limited/VOD release, that's fine with me so long as they're this good. Get the Gringo was terrific as well, but Blood Father was even better.
shareI've noticed in most of his recent films that he simply blows every other actor out of the water when he shares screen time with them. Expendables 3 was another example of Gibson being the actor with the most electrifying and dominant presence whenever onscreen. I truly enjoy some of the smaller genre films he's done recently, but you can't say he's not getting bigger projects due to a lack of talent. This film showcases another amazing performance from Gibson.
The way he informs the audience about his character in such a short amount of time is second to none. His comedic timing is pitch perfect as well as his ability to turn it up a notch when the action scenes kick in. I would honestly say Blood Father is his best performance of the new millennium. Yes, even better than We Were Soldiers and Signs.

He's one of those great actors who as they grow older almost turn into caricatures of their younger selves. I love William H Macy for instance but Gibson is the commanding presence here
shareIs that meant to be a compliment? How is he a caricature?
I think he was so good in this, that the fact he was sidelined from Fury Road...well they should hang their greedy heads in shame.
Mel is Max, not crappy Tom Hardy.
yes it was meant to be a compliment even if the word is usually meant pejoratively. Age amplifies the characteristics of some actors. Mel Gibson is one of them. Mickey Rourke is another. Kurt Russell, Travolta maybe.
Fury Road's political correctness spat on the grave of Gibson's career. Hope this is the start of a comeback
Okay I get you.
shareAgreed... but for a second, his opening scene at the A A meeting: I was a little worried - that one bit seemed a bit forced, but sh!t me!! The rest of this and Mel was awesome - 8/10
shareI gave it 4 or 5. I thought it was pretty bad. The cartel sends one of their bad boys and he can't hit the broad side of a barn with his rifle. Almost like satire it was so bad, you ever tried to break a car window, you not going to break with it your elbow - maybe break your elbow
terrible movie.
I can not believe the positive reviews this movie got here. mind boggling
you ever tried to break a car window, you not going to break with it your elbow - maybe break your elbow
Of course you can break a car window with your elbow idiot...the only window in a car that's even remotely strong is the windscreen...the rest are designed to shatter upon impact so people aren't skewered with shards of razor sharp glass in a crash.
Brilliant film you silly contrarian.
What you have to consider is some men aren't pencil necked weaklings like you obviously are.

LOL...we'll have to agree to disagree...sorry for calling you names.
I still maintain with a nice thick leather jacket on, which to be fair Mel did not have on...you could elbow the side window out of most older cars.
i gave the movie a 6/10 mels performance 9/10 for sure over all the movie i thought was good i enjoyed it and it was good seeing and old face again aside from his personal life ive always liked mel gibson as and actor .Hes always so interesting and entertaining too watch a true talent .
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
Cool movie. Mel totally kicked ass... gave the audience exactly what they wanted. The guy's like 60 years old but he filled the role perfectly. Maybe he appeals more to those of us who grew up on Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson movies, no-nonsense action heros who looked like men (aka no full-body waxing followed by a baby oil rub down) and weren't afraid to be politically incorrect. I thought this movie was fantastic.
sharei liked it. 6/10 maybe. gibson character had good chemistry with daughter even with unremarkable script. plot is simple as expected, great for popcorn. a bike ride scene reminded me of that bird on a wire movie. but i am not sure i remembered BOAW well, since i watched that bird in a wire long ago with my dad. i did not have any problem staying awake on this movie after a long day's work. i was entertained by gibson's presence, and wanted to see him how is he getting old on screen. and it was enjoyable.
shareMel still has it in him.
