I've been looking forward to this movie for quite some time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's currently available on Amazon Prime.

The movie's premise is a common one, and there's some really good acting and actors in it. Blood Father borrowed a lot from other movies, and reminded me of a straight-to-video rental from the 80's that turns out to be a decent selection.

Mel Gibson is better than the material here, and last year's Mad Max: Fury Road could have used some of his charisma.

We will put new American metal into the spine of this nation.

I agree.

I wish the last Expendables movie had a stronger script, because Gibson made a great bad guy.

If you don't know history, you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it's part of a tree.

Was not looking forward to it. Was OK. Will change the channel if it's ever on tv. 87% of its DVD's will be at Half Price stores in 6 years.

I also think it was okay. It could have been a lot better with more likable & believeable characters and better dialogues. Everybody in this movie was so cool about the situation and had some snappy onliners, I just never felt real tension because of that abd I never got really attached to the characters.
