She didn't look 28, she just looked like she'd lead a very rough life and used alot of drugs in her time... Which was true to her character I believe

It was really popular to use 25-35 year olds to play 17-18 year olds. It's pretty hilarious.
Eye of the beholder, friend. I'd never seen her in anything else and never heard of her before this movie - I totally believed she was seventeen. Have you seen some of the seventeen-year-old girls at the malls these days? They look totally like she did in this movie. Heck, some fifteen-year-olds look like she did. It's how they dress and make themselves up... deliberately to look older.
