One of the best things I've ever seen.

This is one of the best shows I've ever watched. I'm only on episode 7, but I wish I had come across it sooner. It's one of the most beautiful things ever to come from celluloid. The sweeping landscape shots are absolutely jaw dropping. The emotions go straight to the heart. The acting is as good as it gets. And the icing on the cake is Ross Poldark played by Aidan Turner (Kíli in The Hobbit movies). He is an incrediblely perfect man and his flaws are what make him so perfect. It's utterly impossible for you to not fall completely in love with him, or with this series. I hope it goes well beyond 5 seasons.

I agree. Love this show. The books go on for a long time after the series so far, until the children are adults. I too hope the show will continue with the whole story.

I know that at one point, the author stopped writing them, then years later he stared again. He picked up 10 years later. I think the writers are going to write their own material for the 10 years that were skipped over. All I know is that I can't get enough of it.

I hope Aidan Turner, in whatever else he does in his career, is rewarded with every imaginable major award possible. He really is that good of an actor.

Aiden Turner is fantastic! His voice is perfect. I love the whole cast. It took me awhile to get used to George because he is a different type than the actor from the 1970’s series, but now I think he is perfect for that role too. Did you see the original Pokdark? It’s dated but still was excellent series from that time. The guy who played the original Poldark plays the judge in a few episodes from this series.

No, I have not seen the original. But I do know that is was a top rated BBC series for some years afterward. I may have a look at it sometime.

Definitely a good period piece. Was glad to have watched it. I learned a bit about England in and around 1800.
