shareWith the way it ends... it could have ended anytime, which makes it that much worse. With the way it ended killing the Tall Man is impossible anyways and pointless. So disappointed. The biggest thing I loved, was the balls and their FX... which in this, was borked so bad. I'd rather have them left out the balls all together the way they were used in this film...almost to a comedic effect.
Remember when Phantasm was sort of SCARY? When you heard that bass rumble of the balls coming....
Part of me thinks that you can't bring the balls outside as it doesn't work overall as a plot device outside... it takes away how they were used as effective tools inside the funeral home. Part 1,2 and 3 had much better ball FX.
If I was Don, I really would not have released this film in the current state. I'd have waited until someone could fix every ball FX shot so it was good. However.... even the balls were not my main concern after I saw how badly it was being filmed. So perhaps... Don knew it didn't matter. He wanted the series to conclude for the fans... and it did.
