Quentin and Lacey getting together by the time they got to New York would have made for a more interesting and dramatic film. Instead, the end half of the movie was boring and predictable (and completely unrealistic with Lacey asking that loser to prom).
shareI AGREE!! First, the whole Lacey and his friend(forgot his name) romance thing doesn't really work for me. I mean, the kid looks about 15 to be honest. And, I there were sparks in the tub scene. Of course none of their relationships would last after high school, because they were all going to different colleges. But, I agree Lacey and Quentin would have worked out much better.
shareWell, QUentin and Lacey WERE the ones that, judging from the dialogue in the movie, knew Margo longer than anybody (or at least the other starring teen characters)..and the three could ahve hung out together. I too wnated Lace and Q to be an item...
Amanda Bynes is hot and Lindsay Lohan is not.

shareI don't agree with this. While I think he definitely missed some opportunity with her, especially in that bathtub scene, I don't think he was good for her. When she asked him to say the first thing he thought of her he mentioned her looks. She was upset because that's all anyone would say. It was his annoying little friend that actually said something about how she's so cool to her. They clearly had better chemistry.
He was too caught up trying to catch the free bird that he never paid any attention to the scores of beautiful women all around him. He wasn't good for her.

when I first saw the movie and all of the sudden Lacey show up and talked to Quentin I thought she's a bitch who wants to take advantage of him. And then judging by the way she looks at Q, she has a crush on him.

shareYou know, that was exactly what I was thinking later! My take would have been: They fetch up in Algoe or wherever the milkshakes were served, and then Margo asks Q what's wrong? He looks a little sheepish (like he often did in the movie) and admits that on the 22-hour road trip he and Lacey kind of got to making out on the back seat, and he's gotta rush now to get that bus back in time to take her to the prom as they'd agreed. Margo is obviously a little hurt at this, because she's got used to everyone thinking the sun shines out of her posterior, and flounces off to meet up with a motor fitter guy who had been paying her rent for six weeks. Q breathes a sigh of relief, climbs on the bus and pines for Lacey. Only another 22 hours to go! And then he's back in the arms of the new girl of his dreams.
