To be fair to the OP, I can see that -- but I also agree with others that there are plenty of free spirits like Margot who get through this "little job" phase perfectly respectably. No resorting to the nasty routes in life. And yes, even wind up living the stable lives they thought they were running away from.
I know a woman who went traveling around the world working odd jobs and sleeping on beaches. She never resorted to porn or prostitution, lol. She just wanted "freedom" and she did that by totally ordinary means.
She is now a middle-aged, middle class woman with two kids and a home worth 3/4 of a million, with a PhD and works for a prestigious charity, while her husband makes a huge salary in a huge corporation.
Even the ones who don't do so well -- there are plenty of people who go off and work "little jobs" forever, but still live decent lives.
Not every woman resorts to things you think they do even just because perhaps you think they "can."
I didn't particularly like or relate to the Margot character -- I do think she's heading for potential trouble but I also know that in real life while some might fall into very dark places, it's by no means everyone.
