Is this story based on Stranda?

I had pleasure of spending couple of weeks in Norway in small town called Stranda and I was told by the people who live there that they have same issue like in this movie. A possibility of mountain slipping into fiord and flood all the town. When I saw this trailer it really look almost exactly like the place I was. Incredible. I was also told that they are monitoring this issue and they will have like 3 day ahead warning (not 10 minutes like in trailer). Does anyone have more info if this is really based on Stranda?

Yes, that's exactly what it's based on. This movie focuses on Geiranger, but Stranda will suffer the same fate. They can probably tell days in advance, but if the rockslide happens without warning, then you will have about ten minutes before the tsunami hits.

Well then, I'm glad I survived my stay. :D Gairanger is close to Stranda as far as I remember. Thanx for clearing this out.
