I know it wasn't his movie but it followed the same exact blueprint.

-Lone rebel with loving family
-Lone rebel that warns of impending doom while everyone disregards him
-Impending doom happens.
-Rebel must save innocent idiot that doesn't matter in the end. (save the cat moment)
-Someone dies.
-Families must reunite.

Too many moments of idiocy to generate the tension. People just standing there so the wave can catch up rather than running for their lives.

And how many more times while everyone is running away one moron is left behind that causes more morons to go looking for them so they're stuck or cause tragedy to happen?

Every rescue movie from Avengers to disaster has this trope.
