I've heard foreigners use some of the funniest American sayings. The juxtaposition in such a tense moment was funny.

A fair amount of English interspersed in the Norwegian. There was OK, big deal, app, and of course, f--- man; jesus. There were several other f-bombs that got sub-titled something more minor, I guess to keep the rating pg-13.

Especially in Nordic countries, and throughout Western Europe, American slang and colloquialisms are used extensively, in that it is common for most Europeans to speak English fluently (especially the well-educated).
Note that the geology studies were printed in English.
American and British TV and movies shown without subtitles are a major factor in that.
