Better than most Hollywood disaster movies.

It's interesting to see so many people getting bothered about a genre that usually produces monthly straight-to-TV productions in the USA.
Sure, it's the typical story about the "family in distress in whatever setting" that you may come across while zapping, but at least the actors are doing a superb job, the circumstances are real and the fact that there's no stupid punchlines really helps enjoying this movie.
Two thumbs up for the whole cast and here's to more entertaining movies, wherever they come from!

I just watched this movie and it was just ok for me( I am from Norway etc etc. OO - but the Geiranger looks really stunning, doesnt it?=) ), but I was sort of entertained throughout the whole thing, but I had to laugh at some of the more stupid scenes. Like the last scene where the two men hit their head or something in the roof? All of a sudden I was not sure what genre the movie was.

I mentioned that I could easily picture Tom Cruise in the lead and that I felt it had some "similarities" to "War of the Worlds". I am probably wrong, but it could seem like they casted that girl to look a bit like Dakota Fanning. I mean red'ish hair and freckles..it might just be me.

Also - I agree this is not worse than a Hollywood production. And I agree on the acting part, or at least for the man lead. He is actually a decent actor.

I am lost in my thoughts and I dont know if there is a point to this reply, but as a disaster movie, I feel this movie can be enjoyed by the masses and that I have seen the "same same, but different"sort of movies outta Hollywood many times.

I wholeheartedly agree.
