Does he kill himself at the end? That was a window he was running towards, right? Didn't look like a door so it has to have been a window (?).
Also, what happened to the case? He was charged with burning the "school" room, so what happened to that since the guy they went to the Karaoke with surely didn't give it to them...
It really doesn't matter. This is not a Sherlock Holmes film. Dolan chose not to show us if he dies. The important thing is that he tried to reach freedom. The movie ends there. cause the outcome doesn't really matter, only the action, the purpose.
As for the case, I believe Diane will struggle at court and maybe she will have to pay. Yes, the lawyer probably ditched them after the karaoke. But that is another story. It doesn't belong here in this film.
