Season 2 even better than the first

Season 1 was great. It took a few shows for the show to hit its stride and the actors to settle into their characters. But it was lively, funny, and all around great entertainment.

For Season 2, the writing was even better. The story lines surprising and creative. I loved it and can't wait for Season 3.

Sam Elliott was a surprise player. Hubba hubba.

This show deals with so many topics in a funny way...topics that aren't covered in any other show. Why is that? Anyway, it's great to see older people in various life situations, being funny and living life to the fullest. Along with young people and kids. That IS real life, after all.

I wish I were like Lilly Tomlin's character, but I'm afraid I'll never be that free and bohemian. Of course, she has a bit of money, so it's easier to experiment with ritualism and art and other things when you don't have to worry about paying the bills, I guess. Still, one can strive to get involved in things more and experiment, like her character. Jane Fonda has always been an under rated actress, IMO. She is superb in this series. How does her hair always look so good, even though she changes it so often?

I think season 2 has been good particularly the growing bond of grace and frankie and the relationship issues of robert and sol.

I agree! I thought s1 was good but s2 was really really good. The writing was far more insightful and elegant and the characters were better developed.

I adore Lilly Tomlin too. I remember watching 9 to 5 as a really young kid and wanting to be like her character.

And I agree that Jane Fonda is underrated. She is great in this series! Her hair always looks perfect b/c that polished look is part of her character. She has extensions too. Her hair isn't that full in real life. But you her character taking off the makeup and removing the extensions in an early episode of s1.

Jane Fonda under rated? By who? She's won Best Actress Oscars for Klute and Coming Home and is widely considered to be a superb actress. She's a recipient of the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award.

I enjoyed it but thought some of the gritty issues were rather jarring in a comedy, eg, Babe's assisted suicide and Elaine's dementia. Also I cringed at the topic of geriatric masturbation. My very modern mother is that age and would never get into a discussion of that topic.

I actually came here to say the same thing. I thought the first season was good, but I wouldn't say it was great. It sure did a lot of things right. This season I'd say is excellent. Much better than the first. The characters seem much more fleshed out. I particularly found Grace endearing in a way that I hadn't before.
