How exactly are those "bad ideas"? This is a show that looks at what it's like to be an older person (woman particularly) in society and the things that can affect you later in life...

1. Surprisingly, Alzheimers is a serious disease that effects the older generation, it's perfectly normal to mention or include it in a show about people in their late 60s / early 70s.

2. Again, not just older people, but a lot of people get cancer. Again, it's a serious disease, so why exactly is it a horrible idea to include it in the show?

3. They pretty much explained that Babe was a complete breath of life, a huge personality and a very strong character, so it makes sense that they would explore euthanasia and show that somebody like that would rather celebrate their life and choose when they die, than become so deteriorated by the disease.

4. To be honest, I don't actually know what you're talking about with this one... I don't recall any scene in the show were any of the "old women" are in a situation where they're surrounded by friends in their 30s... The only scene I can think of is when Grace is drowning her sorrows in the bar and she's talking to all those people, but I wouldn't go so far as calling them "friends". And, the barmaid that was serving her was "protege" a couple of episodes previously.

5. Again, I don't really remember this but, unfortunately in life, some people don't get the chance to celebrate their birthdays because personal and familial conflicts occur.. It's not unexpected that considering what had happened in their lives before wouldn't come out in one way or another.

Thank you for this reply....very well articulated.

Yes, you are right, cancer, Alzeimer and other kinds of health problems of old people, in fact exist (I´m 60, I begin to know about this).

My point is that the first season between the drama, it has a general funny mood.
I remember that I enjoy a lot the situations in all the episodes.

But in the Season 2 I never enjoy the episodes because all of this are so dramatic and tense situations.
In this way I don´t like Season 2.

I respect and share the euthanasia like the final solution in some special situations, but I don´t enjoy a show about this.

My dislike is not about the quality, my dislike is about the mood change.

I´m sorry, my point is very difficult to explain to my SO poor and basic english.

I agree with you. I don't think it is edgy or groundbreaking to insert serious, tragic events into a comedy format. It's jarring and frequently tasteless.

Thanks.. so much... you have explained my point more clearly ...!! :)

I enjoyed most of the episodes as usual, but I really disliked the one with "Babe" in it. I can't stand the "perky, older woman" character that shows seem to want to include (i.e. Mike and Molly did it, too). It was too much like an episode of the era of Laverne and Shirley, or Rosanne. In fact, I believe that the character of Babe was an actress in Rosanne. I also found that episode was rather boring and disjointed with the male characters babysitting a foul-mouthed child. Didn't get the point of that at all. I have not watched the last episode of the second season yet, and hope it comes up to the good standard the other episodes have had. Season 2, Episode 12 stunk in many respects.
