Pixar is stubborn

Cars 1 was... okay. 2 was awful. Anyway, the franchise is not good, but they just won't drop the bone. They are determined to prove that they can save their franchise with a good movie. When Cars 3 fails, and believe me, it will, prepare for the announcement of Cars 4.

English is not my primary language, but at least I speak more than you.

Depends on how you determine failure. If "I didn't like this movie and neither did other adults I know" is the determination, then yes, it has a decent chance of failure. If you're talking about monetarily, though, no this franchise cannot lose money right now. They could finance several film "flops" and still make tons of profit on this franchise.

But, at least we have two originals this year, the Toy Story 4 film that seems to be more of a spin-off (at least it will be more original when compared to a direct sequel), as well as the highly anticipated Incredibles 2. They also have 3 untitled original films in development.

If Cars 3 provides the funding needed to make everything else awesome, I guess it's not a bad tradeoff.

I agree with you on Cars 2 being a bad movie, but...
My son of 4 years old does not..
And that is the big reason why Cars 3..4..5 and so on will never fail.

Because he is a child. And although Pixar will gladly take profit now on these movies, when your kid gets older he will probably ask himself why did he like it in the first place.

If that's how Pixar is doing their business now (instead of doing timeless classics as Toy Story and Nemo, and just producing any random garbage to cash a few bucks), it's a really sad reality for the future of your son who will have to rely on the old Pixar movies for some smart fun.

That blurb of text is one way of looking at it, and there's also the sane way...in which everyone with normal functioning brains (his son, him, and you) realize it's just a movie, was always just a movie and him liking it as a kid isn't some grand travesty or "sad reality" but just normal reality that you're having trouble accepting/undertsanding.

Cars 1 is the best animated movie of the century. Great actors and amazing plot. Best Capra's ending I've ever seen in a present day movie. Cars 2 was good but didn't compare to Cars 1. We can have big hopes on Cars 3 as Toy Story 3 was better than Toy Story 2.

Even if it bombs on the Box Office as long as it sells tons of toys Pixar will milk it until all VA's are dead.
