Possible Cars 3 plot line (History repeats itself?)

Did any of you notice this, from the Cars sypnosis:

McQueen also discovers that Doc (Hudson) is really the "Fabulous Hudson Hornet", a three-time Piston Cup winner who was forced out of racing after an accident in 1954 and quickly forgotten by the sport.

So, do you think that Lightning McQueen, after his accident, will do everything in his power to try not to end up forgotten like Doc Hudson?

Just my humble opinion.....

I have a feeling that that may very well be the case. My guess is that he actually will crash, and then he'll basically get pushed out of racing, just like what happened with Doc Hudson. However, with help from others, he'll retrain/retool and get back into it.

Yeah well they'll try to make it manipulative and emotional to try to make up for the Cars 2 clusterf$$k AND at the same time attend Disney's demand for more Cars profits.
